It was with great pleasure that we were honoured for our commitment as part of the Upper Franconia Innovative initiative. The award recognises projects which, through new ideas, practical implementation and regional added value, help to raise the profile of Upper Franconia as a forward-looking and innovative region. For us, this honour is a special endorsement of the path we have taken. Our approach combines innovation, practical relevance and social benefit: we aim to create initiatives that reach people, strengthen regional development and open up new perspectives. Who awards the prize?

The award is linked to Oberfranken Offensiv e.V., the development agency for the Upper Franconia region. The association brings together business, local authorities and academia, and is committed to positioning Upper Franconia as a strong region for families, quality of life and innovation. As part of the innovation project ‘Innovative Heimat – smartes Innovationsland Oberfranken 2035’, outstanding innovations are highlighted and supported. What is the rationale behind the award?

The award recognises projects that demonstrate that innovation does not only arise in large cities or companies, but also within the region itself through strong ideas, clever concepts and sustainable impact. The aim of the competition is to strengthen Upper Franconia’s innovative capacity, highlight new ways of thinking and showcase exemplary projects to the wider world. The best innovations receive additional support through marketing initiatives and are nominated for the title of ‘Innovator of the Year’. How did the award come about?

The award is part of a selection process in which innovative projects from Upper Franconia are assessed and presented by expert panels.
